Printing stops after one or two pages

I’m printing an adobe illustrator document and after a page or two I get an error code and an “alloc” window then printing stops. I have to restart before I get printing again but this happens again after a couple of pages. I’ve already increased my page file to 2-3MB, my RAM is 256. the file I’m printing is only 10 MB. After the error message I can’t print even a small word file and I have to restart again.
