Most VPN devices do not allow split-tunneling

as it is a big security risk.

Split tunneling means that the VPN tunnel is allowed to be extended over a different subnet, such as the home LAN of the VPN-attached client.

What VPN solution are you using, and is split-tunneling enabled?

it is enable, however it wasn’t specified, so i specified the acl which is the ipsec policy. i have a cisco 1811 router. using remote access vpn, cisco VPN client to connect.

So the printer connection was just dropping packets…go figure.
