Printing web pages/ HTML format emails

By Peter J ·
This is the third time in three weeks that I have attempted to post this question so the situation is becoming desperate.

I am experiencing difficulty in printing some web pages and HTML-formatted email newsletters which are not available in plain text. I am using Windows 98, Netscape Communicator 4.75 and both an HP 4050N and 6P Laserjet. The problem occurs on all computers used.

The characters on the far right are being cut off as if the page width has been set up wider than A4. Changing the margin widths in Page Setup makes no difference. I need to print the entire page without cutting and pasting. I am not prepared to purchase software from outside Australia.

Peter,
Most web pages will be cut off on the edges when you attempt to print the whole page in the way you have described. Have you tried changing to landscape in your print properties? you will end up with more pages this way, but the web page will not be cut off on the edges.

Thank you for your suggestion. Many of the web pages and HTML-format email newsletters that I print out do so without a problem and can be read without difficulty. In fact, some which don't print out properly the first time, do so the second time. The solution I am seeking is for the pages that do not print out properly the first time. With some newsletters taking up 16 or so pages, it is uneconomic to continue printing them out if they can't be read. While you suggestion appears to work, it increases the size of a 19-page newsletter to 26 pages so is not an economic solution. Thank your for your time and effort. I have now found the solution myself. See the comments to Answer 2.

To print the whole page ,you will need to adjust left and right margins in page setup, once you have the page on screen, click on file and go down to page setup, select and when windows opens, adjust the left and right margin, you will have to do this manually.

Thanks for your suggestion. As stated in the information supplied with the question, changing margin width makes no difference at all. The page appears to change its scaling as the margin width is changed. However, while trying out the two solutionsoffered to solve this problem, I happened to change the graphics scaling of my printer from 100% to 99% with the desired result. So for others experiencing the same problem this seems to be the answer, on the HP 4050N Laserjet anyway.
