Prob. Resuming D/loads-mIRC on XP+ADSL

By asaftech ·
Problem: I can start downloads through irc channels, but when one of them fails for whatever reason, I am unable to resume the download. The message says that I need to set my client to receive the dcc and that the request will time out in xxx seconds.

All the info I can think of:
-I've just joined on ADSL, I have the NetComm NB1300Plus4 Modem Router with default settings
- haven't played with Modem configuration so all is standard/default with Dynamic NAT - (2 PC's connected, only 1 using IRC)
-Using mIRC 6.12 as my irc client+ set the "If file exists" setting to "resume"
-also tried Invision script for mIRC but same result
-Have ZoneAlarm Pro 4 on PC's, was installed AFTER irc problem, same results.
-have opened ident port 113 on router

This is very frustrating especially when I've d/l 700MB of a 710MB file for instance and am unable to resume the rest of it.

Has anyone had this happen? is there a workaround?

I had a similar yet slightly different issue with mIRC. Due to the ridiculously unstable software, viruses and hacks from mIRC, I decided not to download any more movies, that was MY resolve and my PC thanks me for it.

It may work for you too.

While this might be a possible solution, it's about as likely as the internet shutting down permanently - thanks though :)
