Problem Adding Computer to Active Directory Domain

By hu.berlinghof ·
Hello,

i have a problem by adding a computer to an active directory domain. When i try to add my computer to the domain by System --> Computername --> Change --> Domain, than logging in with my domain username and password, I get an error, something like "Username not found". What is the problem?

Did I have to add the computer in the active directory first?

I will appreciate if somebody can help me.

Joining computer account to AD

Look what you gotta do here is one thing you should have in mind. in active directory, make sure your the administrator, Domain or Enterprise Admin. this allows you to add a User and computer accounts in the OUs.

there is always a computer group by default where every computer is added before you move to the respective Groups. computer names are unique but can be any such as 222-Agric domain london.local , then you will be asked the account that will enable you to join this pc to AD.
