problem facing in remote desktop connection

by mayank3112 . Updated 19 years, 2 months ago

i am a new user and little bit confused with the previous remote desktop discussions.

this is what i am doing as been decribed in previous posts.
i have four computers in a secure network. and checked all machines in remote assistance in security settings under my computer properties.
but the other option i.e. remote desktop option does not show up in any of my network computer. all uses windows XP home edition.

i have also unchecked exceptions in windows firewall settings.

now when i try to connect any of the other 3 computers ( all are administrator login) it do not connect and shows pop up message that the following computer can not be connected.

someone told me that you need to have windows xp professional on the remote computer and at the client end any os can be used. Is this correct?

is there something wrong in what i am doing and if yes pl reply it would be a great help. as it would save lot of my time in office and home.
thanks
