Problem Installing MS Defender

by nnlogistics . Updated 19 years, 11 months ago

I was using the MS Antispyware beta which was fine, however it is now defunct. In attempting to install “MSDefender” on Windows 2000 I received a message regarding GDIPlus preRequisite pack. I found an MS alert and downloaded the pack with instructions to install the Gdiplus.dll in the system 32 directory. Now I am getting a message regarding installing a windows update (not specific). I also found in a text file in the pack which states “For Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98, install gdiplus.dll into the private directory of the application not into the system directory” and I am not sure what is meant by that? I would loke to install this prerequisite pack before I go any further. Any thoughts on what is meant by “install gdiplus.dll into the private directory of the application not into the system directory”.
