Hey guys I have a problem that I am unable to resolve. I have just purchased a Intel Desktop DP35DP with a 3.0 duo core processor from a local pc store as well as a seagate 7200.10 160GB sata Hard drive from an individual off of craigslist. (I just wanted to list the stuff that I purchased) And I installed everything tonight, I guess the hard drive was once used in an apple pc because without putting my OS disk in it tries to load it but doesnt work. So I popped in my XP pro disk and let it get to the options menu where you hit enter to continue and it does not recognize my drive and the only option I have is to restart. So I tried the F5 method booting through I486 (I once had to do this with a dell hard drive that had 2000 on it) and no luck. Dou you know of any other options I can try? I don’t have access where I am at now to an alternate pc to run it as a slave drive to wipe it clean. =(
I would appreciate any help, if there is any other information you would like to know feel free to ask.
UPDATE:
I went and purchased a new Hitachi Deskstar 500gig sata drive model number : HDP725050GLA360 today and tried to run a fresh install on it with the same error, my BIOS is locating the drive but when I load windows it says there is no drive available.
