Problem logging on after windows update

After installing windows update (KB885835), cannot log on to new windows scession as the password for the account become invalid.

You need to set Password Never Expires on the account to stop this.

Reboot and hit F8, enter safe mode, log into administrator account, change your user password and settings.

Or, you could try removing the update if it is removable. Then proceed as above.

Are you saying that the machine administrator account AND the user account have corrupted password?
I applied this fix yesterday at home, and had no problems.

Do you have a Win2000 disk? Yes, Win2000.

Otherwise, you may have to use a password cracker, or reinstall XP and reapply updates and service packs.

did you try safe mode you can over pass your password & change it

when in safe mod log on admin. / control panel
then in the admin. acc you can modify your pwd

I did try to log on using safe mode, but the user account password also become invalid. I can only hit F8 and revert to previous known setting. Is there anything wrong with this update??
