Why would a hewlett packard hp4000tn printer misprint Adobe acrobat files.

I ran into the same issue when trying to print some vendor documentation from a .PDF file. You may want to try using a Post Script printer driver. It worked for me. Unfortunately, I have not had the time to investigate why.

First step would be to get the latest driver for that printer from the HP web site and install it.

I have the same problem with my old HP LaserJet 4. When I need to print a .pdf file I load the HP III or HP IIP driver. Both drivers arein already in Windows 2000. Just add one or the other printers to your system in the Control Panel-Printers applet. I Like the HP III because it is a PCL5 compliant printer. The only downside is both the HP III and HP IIP are 300 dpi printers. That makes graphics a little "muddy."
