problem starting computer

By dani_bell12 ·
The other day, i was using my computer in my room, and just sitting on the internet, and my computer restarted.. now sense then, i cannot get my computer to start up to the main screens to let me log into my computer..? i can press F8 but, that just brings up the screen to let me put it in safe mode, but then it still will just restart itself over and over?

Just had a simalar problem with a new computer. Only part that wasn't new was the hard drive. Once I swapped the harddrive the computer has worked fine since. I'd run diagnostics on your hardware (memory, hardrive, and motherboard). I'd also check to see if your powersupply is giving out enough power.

can you get into safe mode and look at the event viewer that would be a good place to start to see if you are having a deviece problem if you can't let me know

Have you tried Last Known Good Configuration? If that doesn't work, perhaps a more desperate approach is to re-installing the O/S and watch for the screen that gives the option to Press "R to repair previous installation". This would be a last resort of course. Goodluck!

If you can get in safe check the error logs. This could easily be a hardware issue. My suggestion is for last only..Goodluck.

If you have the original OS cd, put that in your drive and boot from it. Let it run through all the automated stuff, then follow the instructions to repair the current installation. It's usually pretty good at fixing things.

Once you get in, check out the various websites for your hardware and get the latest drivers, see if that helps.
