Problem to login to server 2003 after installing the NW Client

After the installation of the NW client 4.** sp4, I could not logon (not even workstation only). the login process seems to be working but after few seconds the nw login windows is back.

I have seen this when the station looses it's mind (XP Pro). A reboot usually takes care of this, but if not, it sounds like the installation corrupted something with the GINA. Boot into safe mode and remove the Novell client. But I would ghost the server first just in case it makes things worse...
