problem to Print

By Borg7of9 ·
I have a HP Laserjet 3150, attached to Win2000 pro, was working fine. All of a sudden will not print. JOb shows as printing, never completes, just sits there. The spoolsv.exe at this time hogs 99% of cpu, if I kill the job, the system resumes to normal usuage.

If I print to other printers from this system, there is no problem. So I cant see how spoolsv.exe could be corrupt.

I removed and re-installed the HP Laser, and this had no effect.

Any ideas?

Is it a network printer or a local printer if its a network printer try printing to it directly bypassing the print server If its a local try connecting it to another computer to see if the print device has went south on you

Open the printer property page and in the advanced options, select "print directly to the printer". If the job prints then the spooler is corrupted. This worked for me a few times.

Navigate to <system root>/system32/spool/printers
and delete any files in this folder, reboot system and this should solve your problem.

Check the disk space on the drive where the spooler is. I have seen this when the space is very low.
