problem with a 5.0 server novell

By sillesca ·
apear this message before load SYS VOLUME

Warning! <server name> experienced a critical error, the offending process was suspended or recovered.Services hosted by this server may have been affected."

and i already do this,provided by novell.Fix
You must apply NICI 1.5.3 before applying this patch. DS.EXE will make sure that you have applied the patch, however, DS8C.EXE will not. To recover from the above errors and get your server back up,do the following:
1.) Download SERVER NICI CRYPTO 1.5.3 from the minimum patch list at
http://www.novell.com/download/index.html and explode it onto a floppy disk.

2.) Down the server to the C:\NWSERVER prompt and then type SERVER -NA -NS and hit enter. This will bring the server up without the AUTOEXEC.NCF and without the STARTUP.NCF.
3.) As soon as you get to a colon or : prompt you will type the following at the : prompt.
LOADSTAGE 1,LOADSTAGE 2,STARTUP.NCF,MOUNT SYS,AUTOEXEC.NCF
4.) LOAD NWCONFIG | PRODUCT OPTIONS | INSTALL A PRODUCT NOT LISTED. You will need to then
specify the path to A and install the new NICI 1.5.3. After the installation is complete, restart the server and all will be fine. For future reference, the DS.EXE has a check in the install file that will check for the new NICI, therefore, used DS.EXE and patch up to the new NICI.

i hope you can help me with this..

problem with a 5.0 server novell

by tommymcbrayer In reply to problem with a 5.0 server ...

First I would make sure that I used the correct license disk. you will get associated errrors if using say the wrong MLA licenses.

This should do the trick:
1. Download NREPAIR2.EXE if you are using NICI 1.5.3 and obtain NREPAIR3.EXE if you areusing 1.5.4 version. TID2950383 goes over the NREPAIR*.EXE.
Once the crypto has been removed reinstall nici.
