Problem with all progam files in windows

I am using windows 2000 professional , a very strange problem is occuring on my system that whenever i want to open any program file like regedit.exe notepad.exe or any other windows program every time a dialogue box of ” Open with ” appears and asking for choose program for opening this file. either i do it from run prompt or by double clicking please help me.
