Problem with an HP nc6000

By chris_leis ·
I have a HP Compaq nc6000 and it is giving me the following message:
"Non-System disk or disk error. Replace and strike any key when ready."

There is nothing in the drive, and yet when I strike any key, the message remains. I check the HP website and that was not helpful. Can anyone please advise on this matter?

Thanks!

Chris

If there is no removable media in any drive

The only option left to you is that the HDD has been corrupted and that is the reason why you are getting that error message as it can not boot from that HDD as the System Files are either invisible or have been deleted.

Or alternatively the HDD has died and is no longer working.
