problem with .csv conversion

By Lynne ·
I need to convert an Access97 table to .csv format, however when I do this, leading zeros (in social security numbers) are removed. How can I maintain these leading zeros?

Try changing the Social Security field to be a text field and export it as text instead of a number.

I thought this would work, but it didn't.

I would format the column with the "custom" category, and put in "000000000" or "000-00-0000" if you want hyphens in the "type" field. This should work. I encountered the same problem when I was adding asset tag numbers to an audit sheet.

I tried this, too, but the conversion to csv causes it to loose the format.
