problem with .DLL files

By jh0406 ·
I tried to install a game on my computer and ever since I have had problems. Windows Media Player won't work and a lot of my other games won't work either. They all keep saying that a dsound.dll, ddraw.dll, and a couple of other .dll files are missing. I can't reboot the computer. we had a burner installed and something about they took out the drive that you reboot with to put the buner in. So, what other options do I have? What can I do to fix it? Is there somewhere where I can get a disk withthese .dll files? I don't know a whole lot about computers soI need all the help I can get. Thanks

The DLL files you list are all part of DirectX.

You need to reinstall DirectX.

You can download DirectX from Microsoft.

CAUTION: Check with the manufacture of your video card.
You want to install the latest version of DirectX that is supported by the driver for your video card.

You may need to update or reinstall your video card driver after installing DirectX.

Have you tried to uninstall the game to see if that helps? What do you mean when you say they removed the drive that you boot to, to install the burner? Was it the harddrive or the cd-rom ? Why didn't they just add the burner and leave the other drive.
