Problem with downloads.....

By jaibronx ·
Everytime I try to download a tutorial, I keep getting a message that says: " Your current security setting do not allow this file to be downloaded".
I have rearranged my security setting every conceivable way and I cannot D/L any files.
I have Norton Internet Security...could this possibly be interfearing with my ability to D/L? What am I overlooking?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IE Settings

this sounds like an IE setting, have you checked your security settings under TOOLS > Security.

Also if it's IE7 you should get the security bar at the top of your browser which should allow you to mark the file as safe to download and allow you to proceed with your download.

My settings

Yes, it's IE7 and the toolbar simply reads, "more information". It doesn't give me the option to D/L the file. I have checked every possible setting and adjusted luck, I still can't D/L anything.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Can you clarify if this is one URL in quesstion or all URL's - also when trying to download the file are you getting any browser warnings ?

What is your current browser security level ?

It appears that the problem is with TechRepublic only. When I try to D/L my browser simply asks mr to click to allow file to be D/L'd. When I click on my browser all I get is, "More Information" It does not prompt me to download.
My security setting is set at "Medium"
