problem with forestprep option

By henkverbeek ·
Hello everybody,

I receive the following error when running the forestprep option:
Either you do not have permissions to update the Active Directory schema or Active Directory is currently too busy.

We have 2 w2k servers, one is installed as DC and the second is a member server. Both machine are installed with SP1.

I?m trying to install exchange 2000 on the member server.

Can someone help me with this problem. I didn?t find any solution on the Microsoft support site.

Regards,
Henk Verbeek

Refer to the MSDN article XADM: The SETUP /FORESTPREP Command Does Not Work with Error Message "You Do Not Have Permission to Update the Active Directory Schema", which is located at:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q274/1/96.ASP

(If the URL above does not work, locate and remove any spaces inserted by the TechRepublic system.)

Hope this helps...

If I run the forestprep option on my DC I receive the same message.

I think it is something in AD that gives me the problem.

I hope that someone can help me solving this problem.

Henk
