Problem with my printer

By chopinboy99 ·
I have a canon BJC 3000 printer, and I cannot get my black ink to work. I've tried cleaning the outside surface of the ink cartridge holder (with a wet paper towel), and replacing the black ink cartridge, but it has not made a difference.

Let me know if you've had a similar problem!

All cannon BJC seris printers have a bad habit of having head crashes. Cannon says that the heads are rated for a maximum of 10 to 15 new cartridges before a new head may be required. The holder is the head! One thing you can try (it worked for me) was to remove the head (holder) remove both the color and b&w cartridges, thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the head, replace the ink cartridges, replace the head and run the bjc head cleaner options several times. If the head is still good it will resume operation. Note!!: DO NOT USE rubbing acohol (isoprophyl) less than 70% as this will leave residual crap behind even if it appears clean

good luck

Chances of reviving a bad head are very slim. You probably will be buying a new print head.
