Problem With New Computer ( Software or Hardware ? )

by neelony . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

Sir,
I have an assembled desktop computer having Windows XP Pro SP2 as the operating system with the following configuration :

1. Motherboard :Intel DG965WH
2. Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E 4300 ( 1.8 GHz )
3. RAM : Kingston DDR2 2GB ( 1GB x 2 ) 667 MHz
4. HDD : Seagate 160 GB SATA II
5. Cabinet : Zebronics ( Peace ) with Zebronics 400 W SMPS

Now, I am facing abrupt system shutdown and restart problem. Due to this the OS got corrupted. When we tried to reinstall Windows XP Pro SP2 the following problem occured : during the process at the time of the installation of device drivers ( when about 34 to 35 minutes are remaining for completion ) the system automatically reboots and the installation is not completed. For trouble shooting the problem we tried the following one by one :

1. Changed HDD
2. Changed RAM
3. Changed SMPS

Everytime system stopped and rebooted at the above point i.e. during the process at the time of the installation of device drivers ( when about 34 to 35 minutes are remaining for completion ).

Later on we replaced the above processor ( E 4300 ) with P4 2.66GHz processor and tried to install the window. The window got installed without any problem. Then we replaced the processor with the original one and tried to run the windows. The window did not load and the system again started rebooting ( shutting down and restart ). My computer engineer has told me that my processor ( E 4300 ) is defective and needs replacement. Please help and suggest the probable cause and solution of the problem.

regards
Neelony
