Has anyone experienced problems with Oracle on NCR.
One of our customers installed Oracle 8.0.5 on their NCR machine. It turns out that there seems to be a bug in the Oracle Rule based optimizer. Under load the db started to use wrong index, even index that did not have the column we vere querying on.
We tryed changing the degree of the tables, from 4 to 1, but no luck.
Oracle has not given us any answer to this problem.
We are unvilling to switch to cost based optimizer at this pointbecause it would involve heavy testing.
