Problem with profiles on client computers

By g-gmalcom ·
Our 2003 server crashed, had to install OS on new server. I have the domain the same as the old server. When connecting some (approx 4 out of 40) of the client workstations, (all the rest worked fine) they initially log into the network, but after logging off, they can no longer log into the network and cannot even log into the local machine as Administrator or any other account.

I have used a program to reset the administrator account on these workstations and then reconnect to the domain and then copying the old profile to the new profile and everything seems to work.

On one particular machine, I cannot reset the administrator password with the program, says I need to run CHKDSK. I try to boot this machine to a DOS prompt but this does stops at the initial load of the CD.

FYI, this workstation does have scsi drives rather than IDE.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Garry
