Problem with UAC and MS document imaging virtual printer

By hastypete ·
I can only get the microsoft document imaging virtual printer to work if I turn off UAC (using Vista Home Premium). If UAC is on, it goes through all the motions, but no mdi file is created. How can I fix this without turning UAC off? I've looked everywhere for an answer to this.

Are you sure there's no file created?

Check under
Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore.

Vista uses this path as a sort of redirect sandbox for attempts to store files in restricted paths.

Thanks for the path to check, I did not know about that.
Unfortunately, no mdi files were there.

any other ideas? It works fine without UAC, but I'd rather not just turn that off if possible.

When and why is the UAC nag coming up?

Found this, don't know enough to now how useful it might be though

Not a Nag, but UAC is the problem

It's not a nag. Nothing happens when you print. Nothing. No output either.
I know it's UAC because I turned UAC on and off several times to verify that causes the problem.

Also, this is a fresh OS install, although it was like this with the previous install too.

It worked when I pasted it out of the address bar.

I googled UAC MS Virtual Printer Driver to get it.

It was about teh fifth one down.
