problem with uninstalling recovery console

by rowel_leonen . Updated 17 years, 6 months ago

I have a multi-booth system. Two is XP SP2, next is recovery console and the last is Windows 98. I have decided to remove my recovery console due to some reasons and follow the procedure… Go to C: drive then delete cmdcons folder and the cmldr file. I modify the boot.ini files and remove the recovery console entry C:\cmdcons\bootsect.dat=”Microsoft Windows Recovery Console” /cmdcons. Then when I go back to choose an OS on boot up and chose the Windows 98 operating system I always getting this message and fail to boot on Windows 98 system= “error I/O …..bootsect.dos”. But when I restart and choose XP there is no problem at all. What must have gone wrong? Anybody here can assist me please? Here is my e-mail just incase rowel_leonen@yahoo.com
