Problem with USB or Pointsec

By estherswwong ·
Recently our company install the Pointsec After they install the Pointsec and when I go to open the files from the removable drive. I got a message" THE DISK IN DRIVE G IS NOT FOMRATTED, DO YOU WANT TO FORMAT IT NOW" I never get this message before. So I though, it maybe the pointsec program, but when I bring that USB drive home and use it at home. I got the same question? Anyone know the solution? If I can't open the USB drive again, I will lost all my work I done. The worst is I don't have back up..... Please help if you can. Thanks

This has happened because The Safely Remove Option was not used

When the device was removed. The Partition Tables on the drive have been corrupted and you need to rebuild them with a Data Recovery Program if the data is critical. If it's not just format the drive again and this time use the Safely Remove Option within Windows before the drive gets removed pulling the plug on a running drive is tantamount to killing the drive anyway. HDD have to be allowed to spin down before they get moved so Windows provided the Safely Remove Option to prevent HDD Damage.

I believe that this Application from Seagate will repair the Partition Tables but as I have never used it previously I can not say with any certainty. But it is considerably cheaper than the On Track Solution that I use personally.
