Problem with win2k shutdown on HPT366

When I shutdown the system after the cloaking noise (which in my case is always presented by the HDD….) my hard disk quickly reboots twice and on the third attempt it shuts down finally. On system reboots it is the same.
Pls if you have any experience pls HELP.
I am afraid it is not the best treat for my HDD and my data will be gone. This happens in a new clean win2k installation through a HPT366 driver (latest version) for my hard drive
