Problem with WINXP pro Bootable Floppies

By wh3 ·
Hi,

I'm getting the error message-
"File \KDCOM.DLL could not be loaded
The error code is 4
Setup cannot continue"

When I'm trying to install winxp pro using the bootable floppies provided by Microsoft. Has anyone ran into this problem? How can I correct it?

That usually is due to a problem between the driver and the CD. Can you install it directly by booting to the CD and doing the installation? If not, have you tried booting with a DOS disk (including CD drivers), changing to your CD and then the i386folder and typing "winnt.exe" (no quotes) to do the install?

I already corrected the problem. It laid in the BIOS. I had to disable to Video and other Shadowing functions in the BIOS. After this I was able to use the bootable floppies.
