I recently built a PC with all new parts except for the hard drive & DVD burner. The PC has a 600W power supply w/ a 512 MB Gigabyte video card and and an AMD +6000 X2 processor. When I boot the PC, I do not hear a boot up test “beep”, nor do I have a display. The processor fan & power supply both spin like they should. I also have a system fan that does not spin, I currently have the system fan plugged into the mother board for power.
I have swapped out other motherboards from working PCs an they have the same behavior as my new motherboard. I have tried different power supplies which give me the same result. The only common component between all the different ways I have tried building the PC is the actual ATX tower. I am beginning to wonder if all the boards are short circuited against my ATX tower.
I would appreciate any advice if anyone has ever seen a problem like this. Thanks!
