Problems desktop sharpness with nvidia 8800 GT card

by .https://www.theverg . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Hi

I’ve recently upgraded my system and, as with most things of this nature, there are problems.

If someone could spare a little time to help me to find a solution to a particular problem i’d be very grateful 🙂

The problem is with the display.

I’m using:
nvidia 8800 GT (latest drivers)
hyundai imagequest Q17 monitor(latest drivers)
windows vista 32bit

Basically, the output from the monitor looks slighty blurred; i can see a bit of colour around the edges on the letters.

I have used this monitor, with the same drivers with a ge6 card and the display was fine.

Personally, i believe it’s the fact that (for some unknown reason) image sharpening has been disabled on the ge8 series. I recalled that the image sharpening setting was at 50% when i was using the ge6 card, and i believe that is why i didn’t have a display problem. Now that i have a ge8 card, with the setting set to 0 i’m getting this problem.

So, does anyone know of any third party software i could use to change the sharpness the display? I’ve googled some answers but was only able to find one solution, which failed to work.

I would just get used to it but i use my computer alot for work and it causes too much of a strain on my eyes.

Anyway, thanks for reading and i hope you can help.

Regards,

Martin
