Problems everywhere

By randomguy ·
Im using WinXP Pro and when I open most programs it tells me "**** has encountered a problem. Sorry for the inconvenience" or something like that.

(PS: **** = the program name . .).

Help would be appreciated.

good day,

try this;
-you can repair your PC, by using System Restore... first restart yor computer, before booting in windows press F8 button simultaneous to prompt the boot menu then select SAFE MODE...In safe mode you can access the system restore(press start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore) then pick the best date you remember the last known good configuration.

-if nothing happens insert and boot the windows xp or the best with SP2 cd (OS) when the menu appear press enter then accept the agreement and finally select the repair option, and it will prompt you to input the product license key, then follow the other step and so on.

Hi

You should also try using a registry checker/repair utility if System Restore does not work.

Have you also tried reinstalling the programs?

Good luck

Have you run any AV and Spy Ware scans as well?

For a cheap fix you can always try Iolo's System mechanic and see if that can repair broken links or shortcuts there is a 30 day trial version available from

http://www.iolo.com/sm/6/download.cfm

That will give you a 30 day trial to evaluate the software and fix any problems that you may have on your HDD. Just one note of caution DO NOT run the duplicate items utility as it will most likely pick up a lot of things that if deleted will cause your system not to boot, forget that utility but everything else is safe to play with and clean up your system.

For Spy ware scanners you can download Spy Bot S&amp Adaware and the beta version of MS's Anti spy ware program which seems to work fairly well even if it is picked up as Spy ware on the Spy-bot S & D scans. They are available from

An AV scanner if you don't already have one is available from
