Problems Networking Vista Computers!

by aliciamac . Updated 17 years, 8 months ago

Hello,

I am having problems with my network on Windows Vista. I have two laptops, they are set up through a Westell Modem, for Verizon Internet service. The two computers are both connected to the modem.

I have set up my network on both computers, Computer 1 will let me click on the name of the Comptuer 2 in the network window, and I can view and edit all of the files that I have selected to share on Computer 2.

When I try to access Computer 1, via Computer 2 in the network window, I get an error message immediately. The Error Message reads:

Windows cannon access \\Computer2

Check the spelling of the name, Otherwise there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.

Error Code: 0x80070005
Access is denied.

I have tried everything that I know to fix it. There is no problem with my firewall program, because I get the same message when the firewall is turned off.

I even activated the “Guest” account on both computers.

Both of the computers are running Windows Vista.

PLEASE HELP!
