A client had issues with Firebird version 1.5.2 and in trouble shooting I attempted to restart the service but it hung at a status of stopping, and rebooting would not clear it out. I tried to uninstall firebird but that still left the service stopping, I got the service removed but using the command instsvc r and after a reboot the service was gone. Now I have downloaded firebird from their website and the install stops at starting the service. I have tried to install it using the instsvc i -g command. How can I get this installed or is there something with the server that needs to be corrected?
