Problems upgrading Win2K Professional

By chmoore ·
I am having problems upgrading a HP laptop from 98se to W2K Professional. I am choosing the upgrade option as opposed to the clean install. It gets through all the diagnostics and then it is starting to do the actual install and I get an error, "Unable to read or write from drive c:".

The current installation of Win98se is operating just fine.

I am stumped by this one. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I did three upgrades to Win00 Profesional and two clean installs. I had Win95 and Win98, none of the upgrades worked very well(wouldnt reboot, blue screen) and had to be clean installed. The clean installs are working fine. My reconmendation don't do Upgrades just do a clean Installs.

After doing a full scan disk and a defragment the upgrade process ran smoothly. I guess going back to the basics works sometimes.
