I have three computers, two desktops, one laptop. Amazingly enough, I don’t have one functioning cd drive among the sorry group. Have posted in the past regarding a problem I am still having with my main desktop not being able to access any media storage or recognize the cd drive. Still, nothing is working correctly. So…I defaulted back to the machine I had upgraded from. I can’t believe the cd isn’t working on this one either! All of a sudden I get the yellow explaination point in device driver. It doesn’t even show up in ‘my computer’. I have done extensive searching, attempting this or that. Nothing works. Seems like an awful lot of people have had this experience, yet I am unable to find the fix. Device manager is saying the device is functioning correctly, HA! Tried updating the drivers, no new ones are available. Tried downloading drivers to floppy and restarting and get some gobeleygook and machine stalls in dos. reboot, nothing changed. I’m at my wits end, wondering if I was better off with a stone table and chisel. Can anybody help? Please????
