Problems with copying Bart PE files from a CD to USB drive or hard drive

By BrianBooher ·
I want to make a backup of the files that are on my Bart PE boot CD and put them on my USB drive.

When I try to do so, I get a message saying that a file is in use and cannot be copied. The computer then alerts me that the same file is seen as a trojan, though I have never had any problems after using the CD, as in Windows doesn't have any problems later on. I also cannot copy the contents to the computer hard drive, as I get the same error.

I want to know if there is a way to stop this file from being started, even though Bart PE doesn't start up when I put it into the drive when Windows XP is running.

I just want to copy all the contents of the CD to my USB drive, thats the basic idea.

Thanks

Disconnect from the Internet.
Disable your Anti-Virus Program (also any Services related to the AV).
Insert the CD and then do the copy.

There are a couple of programs on the Bart CD that are showing similiar traits to virus programs. Your AV is detecting this on copy (on access scan), the file is then in use and trying to be deleted.
