i don’t know if this is the right area to be in so if its not then redirect me. our company purchased a dell d620 for our ford diog. procedures on ford veh’s. dell told us that this laptop would perform very well when we loaded the software called idss this software allows us to retieve codes & do numourous procedures in diog. a veh. the problems we have are only performing a procedure called power balance & reflash issues to the pcm’s.it has a diog. module called a vcm that connects to a usb port on the laptop & allows us to connect it to the dlc connector on the veh. with all these problems we have ford & dell are saying this laptop is not capatible with this software because the issues with the dual core processor. it will disconnect from the laptop internally when doing these types of procedures & causes us untimely mistakes. the only laptops they recommend is the dell d610 & the panasonic toughbook which i told them i recommended them to purchase in the first place because of its durability in our environment workspace. so me & ford are trying to resolve this as quick as possible without us going & dumping more money into another laptop. i am the one that handles all the software loading & updating it. thanks for listening. david!!
