Problems with IE 7 and 8.
Several websites I go to won?t open. What shows up is ?Internet Explorer cannot display webpage?. I know there are a lot of posts on this but I find this one at least a bit different. I have a dual boot system, XP Pro and XP64 loaded on separate hard drives. IE8 works fine on the 64 bit system but was a total pain just to install on the 32 bit system. On the 32 bit system I can?t log into my banks website. If I disable Avast I can?t even open the site I get the ?Can?t display error?. I can pause each of the ?providers? settings in Avast and the site will open (I still can?t log on) but if close Avast I can?t even open the web site. I just clicked on a link on Microsoft?s System Builder?s website and it won?t open. Again I don?t have any of these issues with the 64bit version(the 64bit version also has Avast installed). I loaded the 64 bit version of XP just to work with graphics and I don?t intend on loading anymore programs than are necessary so the 32 bit version is my primary boot system. I?ve uninstalled IE7 and 8 and don?t have these issues with IE6. I?ve tried all the solutions offered by Microsoft along with a couple on various web sites.
