Problems with Internet on win2k

By ilya ·
Hey everybody,
I have a little problem and was wondering if anybody can help me out. I have a Windows 2000 Proffessional running on one of my systems and for some reason it just doesn't want to go on the internet. It keeps on giving me the "cannot find serer page". All the other 2000 machines are fine but that one just doesn't work.

Help please.

DNS error but

by SBWorks In reply to Problems with Internet on ...

Sounds like a DNS error of some sort but I'd need a little more information - LAN? Server? Straight dial in? - that kind of stuff.

Other considerations

As SBWorks said, this could be a DNS problem. I would start by pinging the site name of that server, then the IP. If the IP address replies and the site name doesn't, it is a DNS issue. You also need to provide more info. What else is running onthis box? Is it multi-homed (two or more NIC cards)? Look at what makes it different from the other servers. Awaiting more data.....
