problems with LCD flat screen monitor

By sshjensen ·
We bought a Sylvania 17" TFT LCD Flat Panel Monitor--CL772b. While we're generally happy with it, there seems to be a problem with monitor resolution...not sure if that's what you would term it. There is a black "jumpy" line that appears at times...when I use the wheel to scroll; sometimes when I'm keying information...as is happening as I type this question. Is this something that can be resolved or should we return the monitor?

Start by making sure that you have the latest driver for the monitor installed.

Even if Windows recognized the monitor, the default driver may not be what you need for optimum performance.

Next, make sure that the driver for your video card isup to date.

If you still get the line with the updated drivers, make sure that the refresh rate in display properties is correct per Sylvania's specifications.

Nice monitor. I wouldn't need my glasses anymore.

Definitely check for correct frequency and current drivers, but; I would return that thing. The sooner the better.

That monitor is rated at VGA up to 1280 x 1024 @ 75HZ.

Go to this page at Sylvania.com and download the driver files and instructions.

remove spaces after copy and paste.

Follow their instructions and load the current drivers. This should be your first step before returning the item.
