problems with wireless

by armccants . Updated 15 years, 11 months ago

So I normally connect to any available wireless network when Im at home. But yesterday I used the internet at a friends house and at first it didnt work. I tried restarting my laptop and reseting the modem, and taking the ethernet cord out of the laptop.

So I used windows help and support center to figure out what the problem is and the suggestion was to change the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) to obtain and IPv6 address automatically and obtain DNS server address automatically.

Now I cant connect to the wireless networks that I normally use at home, but I can use my friends internet connection (with the ethernet cord) without any problems….

What should I do to fix this? I’d much rather have my wireless capabilities back than being able to use the ethernet cord.

I have windows vista (if this is even important that you know)…dont know what version
