Processor FSB higer than Motherboard FSB

By n0uefex ·
Hi, I need to know if I can plug an Intel core 2 duo E6750 on my MSI motherboard.
The problem is that my mobo supports 1066Mhz FSB, and the processor works at 1333Mhz. I don?t mind if the CPU works at 1066mhz speed, I just want to know if it will work at least.

Sorry for my english, I?m argentinian.

Generally No

Generally speaking, you cannot use a CPU with a higher FSB than your motherboard supports.

There are a number of problems that can crop up with timing and even chip-set compatibility.

Further, the BIOS likely will not recognize the CPU and will not be able to set the core voltage correctly.

Bottom line, stick with CPUs designed for your motherboard.
