Have come across a strange problem with a customers PC and not sure of the problem.
It is a laptop with Turion 64 MT-30 (1.6Ghz), 512Mb ram & XP.
Checked the speed with cpu-z utility and the speed keeps changing from 1600 to 800 and back again.
The item changing it is the multiplier – it keeps moving from x4 to x8 and back again.
On the BIOS startup it says 1600.
Is it a dodgy chip or motherboard, or is it something in Windows?
Just that I have never seem this particlar problem before.
