1. Find the Windows 98 manual. Most of the Windows 98 system has Product Key on the manual.

2. Call Gateway and ask for a Product Key. They might give you one.

3. Call Microsoft and ask for a Product Key.

I'm not sure if your OS is a retail version, or a volume (Select) version. This may work:

Select and Enterprise Agreement Customers can obtain their Volume License Keys by visiting the Microsoft Volume Licensing Services site. If you can not find them or they are not available, you can do the following:

1. Obtain your Enrollment Agreement Number (I will send this by private email) and be prepared to provide it to the Customer Service representative because a Volume License Product Key will not be issued without it. If you do not have this information, pleasecontactyourLarge Account Reseller (LAR) or Volume Licensing administrator.

2. Call the Microsoft Activation Center:
* U.S. customers can call (88 352-7140. (Note: This telephone number is for Volume License Product Keys only.)
* International customers can call one of the Worldwide Activation Center Telephone Numbers. (Note: These telephone
numbers are for Volume License Product Keys only.)

3. Obtain your Volume License Product Keys from the Customer Service representative.
