Is there a way to set up a mac profile on Novell 4.11 or is there a third party solution. Or do I have to use Win2k as a server.
We run 85 Imac's O/S 8.6. 30 Win 95/98 pc's

Not a hardware profile but you can create user profiles for the MAC users. Is that what you mean?

With the client you can set the SHORT MACHINE TYPE and the LONG MACHINE TYPE variables.
Usually the LONG MACHINE TYPE should get IBM_PC value for a PC with win9x
Browse these variables under MAC (or set a new value) and in your login script,perform some tasks upon the value of that variable.

Like this.
If %LONG_MACHINE_NAME%="IBM_PC then
#MAP r:=gns/sys:
end
If %LONG_MACHINE_NAME$="IMACs" then
#map j:=gns/sys:
end

** This login script should be placed in the container where the mac users are defined.
** If you have a container defined for imac users, just write the script whitout any if..end statements.
