    Profiles

    Locked

    by rcovington ·

I posted this in the discussions area and got no answer, I have a laptop that I plug into a port replicater which connects me to my network. I use outlook for e-mail. I set up my profile on outlook and everything works fine. If i reboot my laptop i lose all of my profiles I may have set and have to start all over again. Where are how do I set up the profiles so that when I plug back up to the port replicator or reboot my laptop, I retain any profile setting I have set up?

you have 2 files system.dat and user.dat in the windows folder. Make sure they are not set to read only.

      or uninstall and reinstal outlook.

You’ll probobly need to do set one of two things using poledit

If this is 95/98, try and set enable user profiles, so these items will be set to a lolcal profile for yourself

If this is NT, there’s poledit option to delete user profiles on exit, uncheck that.

      Good luck

the first thing you should try is reinstalling outlook but only after removing all the files of outlook (some times, when you uninstall, it leave some file in the folder of the application)
