Profiles in Windows 2000

When we install Win2K.. User profiles do get stored in DOCUMENTS and SETTINGS folder. I have a unique problem, in some machines Profiles is getting stored in winnt/profiles directory,

THis installatin is fresh and not a upgrade

Can some body help

The normal and default path for profiles is Winnt\profiles directory.
Post more detail about your problem.

If Windows NT 4 was installed on the computer before and even though you did a new install for windows 2000, because the winnt registry existed, that is what happens.

IF you upgrade a Win NT 4 to Win 2K it also happens.

Reformat the drive before installing Win2k. The WINNT Directory was still present...otherwise Win2k would have defaulted to Docs and Settings.
