Program searched: Record and convert videos?

Hello everybody,

for a school Project about New/Social Media ans Video Streaming sites like Yahoo in the net I would like to integrate some video material. Part of the presentation will also be to show a video online (from a laptop) and simultaneously "offline" on a smartphone. Thus I need a program to record videos from the Internet and convert them to be able to play it also offline on an iPhone for instance. So far I could not find anything that was easy (enough) to handle for me and that is able to record AND convert. Can anybody recomment a (legal) software program or anything else I could use?

Thanks in advance.

...well I am not an expert and I am pretty sure there are also other programs but I personally use Audials Moviebox to record videos from streaming sites. It costs but it is easy to handle and it works for every site I ever tried. So could be of help for you as well... in case you do not exclusively want the tool for your project? Then it might be to expensive for you... I don't know. However, there is a variety of Video recording tutorials on their Website, also for ABC as I just checked (never recorded from this site so far). http://audials.com/en/how_to_record_stream_capture_music_videos_movies_from/abc.html
Hope this was a little helpful. I just can recommend what I use myself...

Program for recording videos

Hello, mate! Know that maybe you are seeking for a tool and here I want to recommend a screen recorder to you which I got from Cnet. It is free to use and I think you will like it. I take it to record fancy videos for offline use and operation is easy for me. And I can choose the output format like MP4, MOV, AVI and many other formats. So you also don't need to convert then after recording. Here is the address for you to download!
