Programming for the PCI Bus

By tone_aggie ·
Does anybody have some info about programming for the PCI Bus? I am a student at Texas A&M University and am currently working on my senior design project. I will be developing a circuit on a PCI development board. My concern is developing the drivers to communicate with the PCI card through Windows. I am looking at purchasing the S5920 Kit from AMCC.

Here is a link to a site with a lot of information and links.

http://members.hyperlink.net.au/~chart/pci.htm#index

Be sure to remove spaces from the pasted link.

Also, check out the TechNet section at Microsoft's website, the MSDN pages, (Microsoft Developers Network) and the devoloper section of Intel's website.

Best of luck with your project.

Hi, you may use the following link to download
RBPCI from the Ralph Brown web page. It's a DOS program which will display detailed info about your PCI devices, and it comes with source.

Hope this helps.
Good luck on your project.
